...curiosity:

   Romeo was Friulian, and so was Juliet. Their real names were Luigi and Lucina respectively. In Udine Luigi (Romeo) happened to be struck by the eyes of beautiful Lucina (Juliet). Luigi himself made this love into a novel which later became a myth.

 It was here, in Udine, that the greatest love story of all times developed and was later turned into a dream by the genius of Shakespeare.

These two lovers have become a symbol of passion and Fate drew Udine and Friuli as their place. The overwhelming force of love and youth feeds itself on dreams and goes beyond reason.

   Does all this still happen today in Udine?!!!  It probably does. Here you can still find such an evocative atmosphere that can turn a glance into sublime poetry. (to this unexpected conclusion has come Professor Cecil H. Claugh, from Oxford University)

Friulano era Romeo e anche Giulietta. Si chiamavano invero Luigi e Lucina. A Udine è successo che Luigi (Romeo) fosse rimasto folgorato dallo sguardo della bella Lucina (Giulietta). Un idillio che la penna di Luigi ha poi trasformato in novella e quindi in un mito universale. E' qui nata la più grande storia d'amore di tutti i tempi che il genio di Shakeaspeare trasformò poi in un sogno. Loro sono il mito dell'amore e il gioco del destino scelse Udine e il Friuli. La forza travolgente dell'amore e della giovinezza attinge ai sogni e va oltre la ragione.

A Udine succede anche oggi?!!! Forse sì. Qui ci sono ancora le suggestioni che trasformano due sguardi in una poesia bellissima.

BED & BREAKFAST AND SELF CATERING, HOTEL UDINE. Our B&B is located in a nice Italian villa with an attractive garden, in an elegant and quiet area, only 5 minutes away from Motorway Exit Udine Sud and just a few minutes’ drive from the city centre. In the house an independent flat with separate entrance and elegant interiors, is available for the guest only (either as a Bed & Breakfast or on a self catering basis); the flat has two bedrooms, a bathroom, a sitting room, a kitchen for breakfast, and it can sleep up to six people; it is for the guest use only (whether it is one single guest, a couple, or a large family group) and it is never shared with strangers. The atmosphere of the Bed and Breakfast is relaxing, the environment charming, showing care and attention to detail with all the comforts and privacy of home. English is spoken.
